Martin Bailey commissioned to write two new books in 2016
Cheshunt-based author Martin Bailey has been commissioned to write two new IT-related books in 2016 by leading publishing house Management Books 2000 Ltd.
The first book, as yet untitled, will focus on building websites using the Joomla! Content Management System (CMS), which will be Bailey’s third on the topic. It will be split into theoretical chapters, which take the reader through the process of building a site from scratch, and examples of existing sites with specific functionality such as shopping carts or discussion forums.
The second book, with a current working title of ‘The useful book of gadgets, gizmos and apps’ will feature dozens of items to help with day-to-day tasks. Examples include streaming movies to multiple devices in your car, fixing Wi-Fi problems in the home, various low-cost or free computer software utilities and many additional uses for your smartphone.
Commented Martin Bailey; “The first book allows someone with general computer skills to take ownership of building and maintaining a website without having to rely on expensive web development companies. It covers everything from basic setup right through to optimising for search engines and making your site mobile-friendly.
I’m also regularly asked by friends and family what my ‘weapon of choice’ might be to solve a particular problem – whether it’s how to convert old VHS or vinyl to digital formats or the best app to recover deleted files from your computer. The second book aims to resolve life’s little problems, one gadget at a time. Each gadget or app is explained in plain English so people of any technical level can immediate see whether it’s of use to them and how they can find out more about it.”
Added Nick Dale Harris, Publisher, Management Books 2000 Ltd; “We are delighted to have Martin’s two new books in our 2016 publishing schedule. Both books have a strongly focused approach and real practical value for anyone interested in developing their own website or improving their day-to-day management of IT-based tasks.”
Both books will retail at £9.99 and will be available Summer/Autumn 2016 through Management Books 2000 Ltd, Amazon and all major retail/online outlets in both print and digital formats. Co-branding options are also available, allowing the cover to be completely customised for corporate customers wanting to give the book as a branded gift.
